MLearning and Mandatories

MLearning and mandatory subject matter experts work in partnership on the development of mandatory content (in partnership with SMEs), oversight and governance of mandatory requirements, development of methodologies for automatic assignment of mandatories to specific audiences, and reporting of compliance percentages.

Depending on an individual’s role and responsibility one has anywhere from five to eight institutional mandatories required annually.

There are basically two large audiences that have differing mandatory requirements: those who work in patient care areas and those who do not work in patient care areas. The patient care area audience is further subdivided into clinicians and non-clinicians.

In addition to the topics listed above, there are additional requirements based on role including specific to faculty, nursing, IT, compliance professionals, security services, and the Office of the General Council. MiChart training, also required of most of the population of the UMHS is not considered an Institutional Mandatory.
